Michelin famous travel guides are a product of Michelin’s longtime commitment to enhance mobility, not only by making the world’s best tires, but also by providing information that will add to the overall experience of traveling. This commitment started back in 1900, when the first MICHELIN Guide-the brain child of the Michelin brothers-was published and given “on a complimentary basis” to motorists and cyclists, who greatly outnumbered the 2,800 registered cars in France at the time. Soon the little book with the red cover became the leading travel guide in France. For its Green Guides, Maps and Must Sees, Michelin dispatches teams of writers and experts to locations all around the globe to research, identify and verify the information that is published. This consistent commitment to quality over the decades has made Michelin’s guides one of the most highly-regarded sources of travel information in the world.
