Michelin North America Voluntarily Recalls 184 Motorcycle Tires

85

GREENVILLE, S.C., Sept. 13, 2017 Michelin North America, Inc., announced today a voluntary recall beginning Sept. 25, 2017 for 184 motorcycle tires, MICHELIN Pilot Power 3 in size 180/55ZR17 M/C (73W), because the tires do not have certain load and pressure specifications on the sidewall as required by regulation.

Michelin voluntarily reported to NHTSA the noncompliance of these tires in August 2016. The tires subject to the recall were manufactured between April 17 and May 7, 2016, and comply with all Department of Transportation performance requirements.

Michelin is committed to delivering the highest quality and safety performance across all of its product segments.

Owners of these tires may contact Michelin at 1-866-324-2835.

I have a Michelin commander 3 front tire on my electraglide. I have exhausted myself trying to figure out what was wrong with my front end on my motorcycle. I have an annoying buzzing or vibration that is so bad the fender vibrates and makes a noise also. The last time I took my motorcycle in for repairs the tech said that my front tire was causing it. I paid extra for Michelin tires because they are the best. I expect there warranty to be the same please !

Are there any recalls or known defects with the Road Classic tires? I'm on my second brand-new set after the first caused excessive vibration at 60 and 80 km/h, and I'm still experiencing similar issues with the new set at different speeds.

Bought a Mt 90 16 front tire for my 2008 harley electra glide very rough riding, and bad vibration at 25-35 and 55-65. Got to have this problem resolved , tire is junk and therefore not cheap!

I’m having severe problems with the Commander 3 Touring tire. It wobbles and vibrates horribly 50 km/h and upwards. Factory new install on my bike. The dealer can’t find the cause. A new Commander 3 tire made the situation worse. Unacceptable for an otherwise quality brand.

I have been browsing online greater than three hours lately, yet I by no means discovered any interesting article like yours. It is pretty price sufficient for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made good content material as you probably did, the internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.

What's going on with your Commander 3 motorcycle tire for touring bikes - front 19". They have a low speed wobble and a high speed vibration due to what seems to be an OFF-SET CENTERLINE due to mold miss-alignment at the forming stage. Thanks, Jim Schroeder
