Michelin Invites Motorcycle Racers to Take the Michelin Power Evo Challenge

73

Marking the official launch of six new motorcycle race tires on May 1, Michelin invites all racers to take the MICHELIN® Power Evo Challenge by experiencing its new “Evo” line of tires at local track days and race events. Participants will receive a free front tire with a qualifying rear tire purchase.

For motorcyclists, Michelin believes “We are All Racers” in some form and every rider defines his own “race.” To promote the spirit of competitive riding, Michelin has launched this promotion at tracks throughout North America through its authorized MICHELIN Race Tire Distributors: Island Racing Services, Sportbike Tire Service, Motorace and Kennedy Motorsports.

Racers who accept the Power Evo Challenge should choose from the all-new line-up of race tires and report their best track times with the Michelin Moto Lap Timer app available for purchase on Apple and Android devices. Additionally, participants are encouraged to share their experience via social media and on Michelin’s tire review site at mototirereviews.Michelin.com.

The promotion focuses on the “Evo” ranges, which are designed to meet the needs of all riders from the professional racer to the track-day enthusiast and incorporate the latest cutting-edge technologies tested on the track. Riders can choose from a MICHELIN® Power® Slick Evo, MICHELIN® Power® Cup Evo or a MICHELIN® Power® SuperSport Evo front tire with a qualifying rear tire purchase, while supplies last. Product and promotional details are available at Motorcycle.Michelinman.com.

  • MICHELIN Power Slick Evo

The MICHELIN Power Slick Evo is intended for the track and is ideal for weekend racer. Easy to handle, it features MICHELIN Adaptive Casing Technology (ACT) and a new highly versatile rubber compound that avoids having to make difficult tire choices related to weather and track conditions.

  • MICHELIN Power Cup Evo

This tire is the treaded version of the MICHELIN Power Slick Evo.

  • MICHELIN Power SuperSport Evo

The MICHELIN Power SuperSport Evo is designed for both road and track use. It delivers excellent longevity combined with wet and dry performance due to a combination of new rubber compounds and MICHELIN Adaptive Casing Technology (ACT).

The remaining three tires in the family are professional-grade race tires – the MICHELIN Power SuperMoto, MICHELIN Power Slick Ultimate and MICHELIN Power Cup Ultimate.

With the return to MotoGP scheduled in 2016, Michelin is gearing up for a new challenge in this premier motorcycle racing championship  in which bikes deliver up to 250 hp. A continuously evolving showcase of advanced technology, MotoGP is set to adopt the 17-inch wheel size, which is the market standard for sports and road motorcycles. Racing means much more to Michelin, however. As a longstanding component of the company's philosophy, racing is an ideal platform for testing new technologies in the most extreme conditions, which has richly contributed to the six new tire ranges.

Michelin is the title sponsor for the CCS ASRA Team Challenge Series and the WERA Superbike class in 2015.
