Giant Uniroyal Tire Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Towering 80 feet high, along I-94, just outside of Detroit, Mich., sits the largest tire in the world. 

The Uniroyal Tire has been a landmark, welcoming visitors to the Motor City for decades and this week it celebrated 50 years.  Built as a Ferris Wheel for the New York World's Fair in 1964, the giant tire moved to its current place in 1965.
