Michelin Celebrates a New Facility in Greenville

6466

GREENVILLE, S.C., – Michelin North America recently welcomed a new post-manufacturing facility to its network with a ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration. The facility and approximately 160 employees officially joined the company Jan. 1.

The Post Manufacturing Site is located near other Michelin manufacturing facilities in the Upstate and can meet the growing demand of the post-manufacturing services required to anticipate EV drivers’ needs.

For decades, Michelin has been working on tires designed to meet the unique challenges of EVs. The inclusion of Post Manufacturing Greenville facility is the latest example of Michelin investing in a future that provides automotive manufacturers with our latest technology.

Michelin and Post-Manufacturing

At the Post Manufacturing Greenville facility, tires are equipped with Michelin Acoustic and Selfseal technologies. These advances are a key step in providing high-quality products to our customers and meeting the growing demand for electric vehicle (EV) tires.

Michelin Acoustic, a polyurethane foam ring inside the tire, helps reduce internal vibration and noise caused by tires, a major concern for electric vehicles with noiseless engines. Selfseal helps self-repair punctures, enabling automotive manufacturers to save the weight of a spare wheel.

To find out why eight out of 10 EV manufacturers use Michelin tires[1], visit our website.
