Michelin’s Kent Mounting Center provides tire and wheel service for 100% of Boeing commercial aircraft production.

GREENVILLE, S.C., July 25, 2023 – Michelin North America, Inc. adheres to a simple philosophy when it comes to the safety of its employees...every member of the team is important.

The Kent Mounting Center, located in Kent, Washington, provides tire and wheel service for 100% of Boeing commercial aircraft production, which amounts to more than 60,000 assemblies over the past 13 years.

“We are extremely proud of this significant accomplishment of over 5,000 days without a workplace safety incident,” said Randolph Marks, facilities manager, Michelin Mounting Center. “While we have achieved a significant result, we still strive to lose zero days of production because of a work-related injury. This achievement is not about statistics, but rather the health and safety of our team members, because of our Michelin DNA.”

On call 24/7, Michelin’s Kent Mounting Center continues to provide excellent customer service with our Boeing partnership. Honored with eight “Silver Performance Excellence” awards, the prestigious “Boeing Supplier of the Year” award for 2014 from over 14,000 suppliers and finishing 2nd runner-up for the 2017 “Boeing Outstanding Quality Performance” award, Michelin is recognized for both outstanding quality as well as placing safety and at the top of its priorities.

"The value we place on safety in the workplace enables us to achieve greater success in production, which ultimately benefits our customers," said Marks. “At the Kent Mounting Center, we support Boeing production lines in not only Washington, but also South Carolina, assuring all assemblies are on time and achieve rigorous quality standards.”

Michelin’s Kent Mounting Center continues to exceed quality inspections by Boeing, Michelin, the FAA, and Washington State Department of Labor and Industries, Division of Occupational Safety and Health, the state’s equivalent of OSHA, since 2011 without any compliance violations.
