The model before this one had a boost mode on the cables this one has no boost mode on cables to push is there a button combination on unit to go into boost mode ?

I've purchased two of these from Costco and neither one of them work when I'm trying to jump start a battery. In both cases I never get the illuminated signal to connect the first cable to the battery? What am I doing wrong? If I don't get a quick answer I'm taking it back to Costco for a 2nd refund. Very frustrated customer!

This works so well I ordered three more of them as gifts. The technology has come a long way. One question I can’t get answered yet:
This booster must detect a battery to provide voltage. I presume for safety. Some of my equipment has a ground power plug. Connecting a regular battery closes a relay and the circuit is completed enabling a jump. These power banks won’t supply current without detecting a battery which isn’t going to happen with the relay open. It’s a Catch 22 that I can’t resolve without tools to access a well hidden battery. Please help. There must be a solution that I’m missing.
