“One of the key attributes that attracted Michelin to South Carolina was the presence of a skilled and talented workforce,” said Dave Stafford, chief human resources officer at Michelin North America. “More than 45 years later, having a highly skilled workforce continues to be essential to Michelin’s success – and for the success of our state and our region.”
With 12 sites in South Carolina, Michelin employees more than 9,000 corporate and production employees across the state. Michelin is focused on workforce development through the Michelin Technical Scholars program and Youth Apprenticeship program. Both programs provide high school and technical school students with a real-world application of their studies in a Michelin facility.
Michelin is committed to fostering strong community relationships. Michelin’s annual charity golf tournament has generated more than $8 million since its inception in 1989 and benefits 10 charitable organizations.
