Michelin’s new wiper blade is durability-tested to last 2X longer than standard blades

Michelin North America has introduced the MICHELIN® Endurance™ XT Silicone Beam wiper blade, its most durable wiper blade for passenger vehicles. This new product was specifically engineered to last twice as long as standard blades1 while providing smooth, streak-free wipes and improved driver visibility even in the most extreme weather conditions.

The new MICHELIN Advanced Silicone Beam wiper blade, manufactured and distributed by Pylon, is now available exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide and online at www.walmart.com.

The MICHELIN Endurance XT Silicone Beam wiper blade features exceptional benefits:

  • Advanced silicone compound that allows the blades to remain flexible and resist cracking in temperatures ranging from -80°F to 195°F
  • Durability tested to 2 million wipes as compared to the industry-standard 1 million wipes for extended blade life
  • Silicone compound transfers a water-repellent micro-barrier so that water beads off the windshield even when wipers are not in use
  • QuadTech™ 4-layer coated silicone for quiet wipes, flexibility, durability and water repellency
  • A curved, flexible, frameless beam design with infinite pressure points to provide even, consistent wipe pressure for smooth, quiet wipes and improved visibility
  • Built-in aerodynamic spoilers that help channel air flow for improved wiper to windshield contact even under the toughest conditions
  • Comes equipped with the MICHELIN EZ-Lok™ Connector system for fast and easy installation

“As a leading mobility company, Michelin’s goal was to develop a durable and reliable wiper blade that would enable drivers and passengers to reach their destinations safely, despite the weather conditions they might encounter along the way,” said Tom Jupena, director of travel and lifestyle for Michelin North America. “Michelin’s new Endurance XT Silicone Beam wiper blade reduces exposure to elements and prevents windshield build-up from snow and debris.”

German world-record holder Rainer Zietlow recently put the extreme weather performance of the MICHELIN Endurance XT Silicon wiper blades to the test when he set the long-distance record on the world’s longest road, the Pan-Americana Highway. The highway stretches more than 16,000 miles through 14 countries from Alaska to Argentina. Zietlow and his team broke the previous world record set in 2011 by completing the drive in 10 days and 19 hours. Zietlow made a donation to the international organization “SOS Children’s Village” located in Montevideo, Uruguay based on total distance driven.

  1. Lasts 2x longer than other blades is a comparison to natural rubber blades. Michelin silicone wiper blades are tested to perform to 2 million wipes compared to the Michelin Stealth XT with natural rubber tested to 1 million wipes in weather performance evaluations. All wiper blades eventually wear out and should be replaced.

Be sure to 'clean' your windshield before your run the the wipers dry for 3 to 5 minutes on medium speed to activate the solution.

Blades smear and chatter on two vehicles. Don't buy these!

I purchased a pair 2/20/21. I installed them about the first week of March 2021. I had my car serviced on 4/5/21 and the Service Writer informed me the blades were streaking and he was right. I researched the warranty and contacted Michelin on 6/24/21 and spoke with a Customer Service person who told be to run the wipers at a medium speed for 5-10 minutes which I attempted to do. In examining the blades there were 2 areas about 1.5-2" long on both blades that looked like they were dragged across 60-Grit sandpaper but I attempted to follow the instructions. In <1 minutes the blades were chattering across my windshield, in <4 minutes one of the EZ-Lok Connectors broke and the blade went flying across the hood of my vehicle. I reached out to Michelin, spoke with the same no-service person about replacement blades and they arrived yesterday. Not the "last 2X longer" Endurance XT blades that what I had purchased and the replacements were not even silicone blades they are natural rubber a.k.a. latex. Michelin thank you so much for your worthless warranty claims and outstanding Customer No-Service. These are the last Michelin ANYTHING that I will ever purchase.

I recently purchased your wiper blades good for 2 million wipes. They are by far the worst blades I've ever had. They only wipe two thirds of the windshield. I put them on, thru packaging in dumpster at work. About 5 days later it rained and they didn't work. I will never purchase Michelin products again, I'm out 43 dollars!

Are Michelin Endurance XT Advanced Silicone Wiper Blade 26" available in Canada and if so where?

Jim Bush | December 22, 2020 @ 12:04PM
How do you remove the 3A connector so that I can install the blade with the proper connector 3H-8?

Mike K | June 24, 2020 @ 9:21PM
Only had for 2 months. Driver side silicon torn about 3 inches. I cut of the bad part so it wouldn't keep tearing. They also squeak if there is only a light rain with little water on them. A heavy rain they do not squeak. Thought buying the top of the line I would get better performance out of them. I was wrong.

Bell Jeff | December 24, 2019 @ 1:11PM
It package says minutes run. It won't wear blades out 5.

Jeff Bell | December 22, 2019 @ 11:49AM
On the package it says after install to use the wipers on medium speed on a clean dry windshield for 5 minutes. I’ve never heard of running wipers on a dry windshield. Won’t this wear out the wipers? I can’t find anything about it online either.
