GREENVILLE, S.C., March 24, 2017 Michelin Tweel Technologies has announced the MICHELIN® X® TWEEL® TURF — the revolutionary airless radial tire that virtually eliminates tire downtime and is nearly maintenance free, is now available for standalone purchase at John Deere dealers. First launched in 2015, the MICHELIN X TWEEL TURF Airless Radial Tire, minimizes the cost and time spent on tire repairs and maintenance providing landscape contractors with significant cost savings.

“Our strong relationship with John Deere has continued to grow since 2014.  With the overwhelming response for the MICHELIN X TWEEL TURF Airless Radial Tire as original equipment, we are now dedicated to expanding the supply to also make the product available as a standalone offer for their customers,” said Olivier Brauen, head of Michelin Tweel Technologies. “This partnership continues to dramatically change the commercial mowing market because the tire simply won’t go flat.”

When launched, the MICHELIN X TWEEL TURF Airless Radial Tire was sold exclusively for John Deere ZTrak™ 900 Series models with 54-, 60- and 72-inch deck sizes as a part of a new machine purchase. Customers will now be able to purchase the MICHELIN X TWEEL TURF product for existing ZTrak 900 Series models, providing landscape professionals greater performance, increased uptime and a lower cost of ownership.

The MICHELIN X TWEEL TURF Airless Radial Tire has the same dimensions and bolt pattern as a standard 24x12x12 tire, and features automotive rubber technology, allowing the tread to last up to three times longer than standard turf tires. The MICHELIN X TWEEL TURF Airless Radial Tire is certified for use on John Deere Z900 E, M, and R Series gas-power mowers with 54-, 60- and 72-inch decks.
