Michelin, Volvo Trucks Award $25,000 to Fleet Safety Winners
Greenville, S.C. (October 10, 2012) – Michelin Americas Truck Tires has again partnered with Volvo Trucks for the 2012 Volvo Trucks Safety Award which recognizes and promotes highway safety in the trucking industry. Two category award winners were announced last evening during the American Trucking Associations’ Annual Management Conference & Exhibition held at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

By recognizing fleets who strive for zero accidents through their active safety programs, we encourage the industry to promote what we value,” said Jaye Young, Michelin Americas Truck Tires country marketing manager. “We congratulate Munoz Trucking and ERB International Inc. Many fleets are striving for improved safety for their fleets and for all motorists using the highways and byways across our nation. We encourage the trucking industry to adopt the best practices of this year’s winners.”
Munoz Trucking, a division 1 is fleet that traveled up to 20 million miles annually and ERB International Inc., a division 2 fleet that traveled more than 20 million miles annually, each received a plaque of recognition and $25,000. The program is based on driving records from calendar year 2011. Fleets operating at least five Class 8 tractor units in the United States or Canada are eligible, but only fleets operating with at least one Volvo tractor are eligible. Previous Volvo Safety Award winners are not eligible to win.
