Michelin North America's Overview and Guidelines for Community Support

Our Mission
Michelin is committed to living in harmony with local communities throughout North America to create a better way forward through increased mobility and sustainability. As part of the Michelin Performance and Responsibility Ambition, Michelin North America has a long tradition of social commitment to programs and activities that give back to communities and where our facilities are located.

Guidelines

At the heart of Michelin is our mission: to create a better way forward.  This sense of responsibility is shown in our commitment to developing accessible, clean, safe and connected mobility solutions, and extends to our customers, employees, stakeholders and communities where we live and work.

Just like you, Michelin is invested in the places where we live and work. We thoughtfully use our resources to make a meaningful and measurable difference in the lives of people by creating sustainable value and stronger communities. Across the world, we accomplish this in three key areas:

  1. Boost Local Economic Growth - Support the creation and sustainability of microenterprises to create sustainable jobs. Promote projects that improve the employability of local residents.
  2. Engage in personal development of residents - Help develop personal skills and capabilities among the local population, particularly among the disadvantaged.
  3. Enhance environment in and around community - Support actions that help to improve the quality of life and/or the sustainable mobility of local residents, including actions that promote road safety as well as other local quality of life and sustainable mobility issues.

In considering requests for funding, we focus on the following criteria:

  • Education with and emphasis on Public Education- Grades K-12; Technical Colleges
  • Environment and Safety
