GREENVILLE, S.C., June 21, 2024 – To meet the growing challenges of road cyclists and urban commuters, Michelin is introducing the new Michelin Power Protection TLR tire and Michelin City Street tire to take on road conditions confidently all year long.
“Road cycling is at the heart of our humble beginnings as a company, and unveiling these new tires for avid road cyclists honors the rich Michelin heritage,” said Andrew Besancon, director of marketing for recreational brands at Michelin North America, Inc. “Our new tubeless-ready, all-season capable Michelin Power Protection TLR tire allows enthusiasts to experience our cutting-edge tire innovations during their cycling adventures, while a combination of City Shield and Magi-X Technology within the Michelin City Street tire help elevate commuter adventures.”
Using puncture protection technologies, with a unique and fast-rolling tread pattern, the Michelin Power Protection TLR tire is designed to withstand obstacles on all types of roads thanks to its Michelin Bead to Bead technology reinforcement, which offers puncture and pinch protection. Road cyclists can also expect a tread pattern designed to improve stability and optimized for wet grip, due to the Michelin Magi-X compound. The Michelin Power Protection TLR tire is the most durable Michelin Tubeless Ready road tire – strengthened by a new tread pattern combined with Michelin Bead to Bead technology – and it’s ready to ride in any season.
To meet one of the fastest growing markets, urban commuters will find fun and performance for their city ride with the new Michelin City Street tire, which is eBike-ready. A versatile tire for electric and traditional bicycles, these tires are designed for riders to experience improved puncture protection thanks to the reinforced casing provided by the Michelin City Shield technology. Compared with the MICHELIN Protek Max, the MICHELIN City Street’s braking performance marks an improvement of 10%, with cornering in damp conditions[1] improved by as much as 22%1.
