MICHELIN MegaXBIB 580/85R42 designed for more traction and less compaction in 30-inch rows
GREENVILLE, S.C. (Aug. 5, 2013) — After its award-winning launch of the MICHELIN® YieldBib™ radial in 2012, Michelin North America will showcase a new large volume combine tire at the 2013 Farm Progress Show. The new MICHELIN® MegaXBib™ 580/85R42 168A8/168B will extend the already popular MICHELIN MegaXBib line.
But that isn’t all Michelin has planned. The leader in radial Ag tire innovative solutions will demonstrate soil compaction to show how a specific choice in tire can significantly affect equipment performance and, ultimately, a farmer’s bottom line.
“We will be equipping a John Deere 9870 STS combine filled with corn and using a 12-row header,” said Bob Rees, product marketing manager for Michelin North America Agricultural Tires. “We will be mounting two sets of tires on the combine, dual MICHELIN MachXBib 650/85R38 radials on one side and on the other a set of MICHELIN MegaXBib 520/85R42 straddle duals. The demonstration will show the best tire size option for a large, fully loaded combine.”
This demonstration, along with a demonstration on stubble resistance, will be available for farm show attendees at the Michelin exhibit area (booth 618) at the 2013 Farm Progress show, August 27-29, 2013 in Decatur, Illinois.
Michelin will be in booth 38 during the Ag Media Summit in Buffalo, New York August 5-6, 2013.
