MICHELIN EXTENDS ITS ROAD TIRE RANGE BY INTRODUCING THE NEW MICHELIN LITHION 4

  • Magi-X technology for superior grip in all types of conditions
  • New tread design featuring unique technology for even longer life

GREENVILLE, S.C., August 8, 2024 – A long-time leader in the world of road cycling, Michelin has extended its Lithion ranges by launching the Lithion 4 tire to cover many forms of the sport, including ultradistance riding and year-round training.

“Launching the Michelin Lithion 4 tire helps competitors searching for a versatile option reach their goals,” said Andrew Besancon, director of marketing for recreational brands at Michelin North America, Inc. Ideal for training and for those who love to push the limit in both dry and wet conditions, cyclists can expect the Lithion 4 tire to meet their needs throughout the seasons.”

Based on feedback from customers of its previous-generation Lithion tire ranges, the Michelin Lithion 4 tire addresses the broad spectrum of demands experienced by cyclists. With the addition of new, wider sizes, the Michelin Lithion 4 tire covers an even wider range of activities while optimizing riding efficiency.

Cyclists can feel even more connected to the road1 with an adapted tread pattern and the Michelin Magi-X compound. These technologies and the Michelin Lithion 4 tire’s new, reinforced 60 TPI casing further improve its resistance to damage and contribute to even longer life2. In comparison with the Michelin Lithion 3 tire, the grip provided by the new tire in the damp has been increased by almost 8%, while riding efficiency is up by more than 5%2.

The list of available sizes has been extended to cater to the market's increasingly versatile bikes. The tube-type Michelin Lithion 4 tire can now be ordered in sizes extending from 23-622 (700x23C) to 32-622 (700x32C). This catalog covers road and electrically-assisted bikes while addressing the needs of bikepackers—fans of fully autonomous ultradistance cycling whose prime focuses are reliability, riding efficiency and ride comfort.

Providing options in black tread and brown sidewalls in addition to the existing all-black finish, the Michelin Lithion 4 tire combines many features to make a versatile tire and the perfect choice for exacting road cyclists.
